Change the Start Menu Power button to Shut Down instead of Sleep on Windows Vista

The start menu in Windows Vista has a power button which oddly puts the computer into sleep mode, rather than shut down. Folow the instructions below to change this behaviour so the power button shuts down your computer.

Open the Control Panel and click on Power Options.

Select the Power Plan that you want to use and click on "Change plan settings".

Click on Change advanced power settings, double click on "Power buttons and lid".

Double click on "Start menu power button", change the Setting to Shut down.
