How to enable clear-type in Windows XP

This tutorial will guide you through the simple process of enabling clear-type in Windows XP. ClearType attempts to improve the appearance of text on certain types of computer display screens by sacrificing color fidelity for additional intensity variation.

Right-click on your desktop and choose 'Properties' from the context-menu.

Go to the 'Appearance' tab

Click the 'Effects' button

Tick the checkbox which says 'Use the following effects to smooth the edges of screen fonts:'

Select 'ClearType' from the dropdown

Click 'Ok'
