This tutorial will guide you through the simple process of enabling clear-type in Windows XP. ClearType attempts to improve the appearance of text on certain types of computer display screens by sacrificing color fidelity for additional intensity variation.
- Right-click on your desktop and choose 'Properties' from the context-menu.
- Go to the 'Appearance' tab
- Click the 'Effects' button
- Tick the checkbox which says 'Use the following effects to smooth the edges of screen fonts:'
- Select 'ClearType' from the dropdown
- Click 'Ok'
